TDH on Holiday in Central America & Returns January 25, 2010, Las Vegas Film Critics Society Winners, “240,000 People Go To Hell Every Day”, Russian Bank Robber Used Hypnotism, Jacques Vallee on Boing Boing, The Nobel Prize of War, and more...
Overseas Adventure Travel. We are going on our 7th tour with OAT called The Route of the Maya. We will start in El Salvador and then go to Honduras, Guatemala, and Belize!
More than 3,000 years ago, a civilization emerged from the humid forests of Central America, flourished for nearly 600 years, and then vanished. In that time, they created a complex writing system, devised a calendar equivalent to our own, introduced the concept of zero in mathematics, predicted lunar and solar eclipses, and built the tallest structures in the Western Hemisphere—and all while Paris was just a sleepy village. Their ghostly remnants are scattered across five countries in an ancient, 1,500-mile trade ring known as La Ruta Maya. From ruins to rituals to rural villages, we will trace the footsteps of this enigmatic culture in OAT’s small group of only 16.
OAT’s Ambassador Program. If you call for a brochure (1-800-493-6824) and give my name (Victoria Alexander) and our customer number (000658618L) when you reserve your first trip, you get $50 off the very reasonable tour price. http://www.oattravel.com
Jacques Vallee on Boing Boing. Jacques astutely questions the occult message in “Polanski and Kubrick: Two Occult Tales” on Boing Boing. Jacques Vallee is a computer scientist, partner in a venture capital firm, and author of more than 20 books, including Passport to Magonia: From Folklore to Flying Saucers, The Invisible College, and The Network Revolution.
Jacques’s discussion of “Eyes Wide Shut” (pictured) and “The Ninth Gate” begins:
“In our age of rational science the occult has never been more in demand: Angels and demons are popular, the Da Vinci code and lost symbols fascinate audiences worldwide and Hollywood is eager to turn out more movies with a paranormal theme. So why is it that so many of these stories seem flat, and fail to reach the level of insight into hidden structures of the world true esoteric adventures are supposed to promise?” To read Jacques complete article go to: http://www.boingboing.net/
He Loves the Smell of Sulphur in the Morning. Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said he "still" smelled sulfur after President Obama made a keynote speech at the Copenhagen climate conference, accusing the American president of carrying the same satanic agenda followed by Obama's predecessor, George W. Bush. Chavez, who was not included on the original list of speakers for the final day of the summit, ended the proceedings with bitter references to the Peace Prize-winning Obama as the "Nobel Prize of War."
"The Nobel Prize of War just finished saying here that he is here to act. Well, show it sir. Don't leave by the back door," he said. Three years after Chavez likened Bush to the devil during a speech at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, the socialist strongman tore into Obama, claiming that "it still smells like sulfur in the world."
“And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.” Revelation 20:10
Pastor Deacon Fred of the Landover Baptist Church explains: (edited by TDH for clarity and highlighting the important parts of the Pastor’s sermon)
“God tells us in Revelation, Chapter 14, that he is going to torment people with fire and brimstone. Brimstone is sulfur and sulfur is in the center of the earth.
“And it is Satan’s little calling card. When you smell sulfur, you know Satan has been around. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had saved men come up to me who work on them oil drilling platforms in that Gulf of Mexicans [sic] and tell me the same story. They say that sometimes they drill too far and suddenly the whole platform fills with the smell of sulfur coming up the pipeline straight from Hell.
“Sometimes, they can actually hear the sounds of demons in Hell screaming for mercy coming up the pipe. It is a fact the media don’t want you to know, but the folks at Exxon Mobil have had to start playing loud rap music on their platforms just to drown out the sounds of demons scampering up the pipeline to escape their never-ending torture.
“Sometimes, they don’t close the hole quick enough and millions of demons escape. Fortunately for us, most of these demons that escape find themselves in the water (and drown because demons...can’t swim) or they turn up in some godforsaken Arab country where everyone is damned anyway so they can’t do much harm.
“But when you smell sulfur, you know the Devil is around. Friends, have you ever sat yourself down on the toilet to do nature’s necessity and been overwhelmed by the smell of rotten eggs? It is sulfur. A clear sign that demons are living in your bottom. You need to get yourself down to a Bible-believing church, pronto, and get yourself a Jesus enema!
“So, we know that Hell is a real place, with a real location. There is even more evidence of this when we see volcanic eruptions. They spit out tons of sulfuric gas into the air. Global warming is a direct result of overpopulation in Hell.
“In fact, Hell has gotten so crowded, it has started to annex parts of the surface of the Earth. So far, all Satan has laid claim to is Africa.
“240,000 people go to Hell every day. That's 158 people a minute.”

Showtime’s Dexter Triumphs! At our home Sunday night is reserved for Dexter. He married Rita and she became an irritant. Rita insisted Dexter be a family man to her 2 children and their new baby instead of a do-good serial killer. In a brilliant season (all the Dexter seasons have been fantastic), The Trinity Killer got rid of Rita in the finale! Now Dexter can go back to killing without answering cell calls from Rita every half hour! Thank God they got rid of Rita!
Rita was ruining Dexter. He’s free now to pursue murderers without having to stop off and get milk.
Dexter's season four finale broke records for Showtime, making it the most-watched episode of an original series in network history!
There was a 71% increase from the season three finale as 2.575 million viewers tuned in at 9 p.m., and 3.078 million if the 11 p.m. replay is factored in. This is the first time a Showtime original series has taken in 3 million viewers on a single night.
Russian Bank Robber Used Hypnotism. Bank robbers have threatened tellers with knives, shot their way into banks and tunneled up into vaults. But one woman in southern Russia chose a more peaceful method: Police say Galina Korzhova hypnotized a bank teller into handing over $80,000 in what is believed to be just one in a series of daring, if non-violent, bank robberies.
Korzhova met the teller on the street, saying that she would remove curses and help cure sick relatives, stop her from smoking, have her lose weight, and stop her husband from drinking. She then hypnotized Korzhova into giving her the money. The teller only realized what she had done a couple of hours later and told her bosses at the bank what had happened.
Police say that Korzhova is a "tsiganka," or Roma. Police, who are often criticized for racial profiling, say this type of crime is most often perpetrated by Roma who are traditionally involved in fortune telling and are often seen begging in Russia. The Roma, or Gypsies, are nomadic people who live throughout Europe. Human rights groups say they are severely discriminated against in Russia and that police routinely assume their guilt and harass them.
